In October, I will continue working closely with the other leaders of Metro East Pride, and look forward to the many exciting developments that are happening throughout our region. Many Community events are updated not only here, but at other domains, we have the privlege of contributing for. (including www.HopeandHelpCenter.org, www.MetroEastPride.com, as well as www.GayStLouis.com, and still others.

Looking back at the month of September, there were so many exciting developments, I would like to make brief mention of some of them. On September 21st, the MCCGSL chior participated in the How Sweet the Sound Contest, and had the opportunity to perform at the Scottrade Center (aka KEIL CENTER) before nearly 10,000 people. September 26th, marked the very special Grand Opening Celebration of the new facility at 1919 S. Broadway, followed by a very special worship service on the 27th. MCC of Greater St. Louis was blessed and honored to welcome Rev. Elder Nancy Wilson, as the Moderator of MCC, and appreciated her message of hope.

October events for METRO EAST PRIDE, included a special viewing of the film "The Bible tells me so", which addresses the state of Christianity and its relation to the LBGTIQ communities, and documents the damages that have occured as a result. October 10th, MEP will support the Interfaith Food Pantry, by participation in the "All you can eat Breakfast" at the Applebee's of Fairview Heights.

IF YOU WISH TO JOIN US ON OCT 10TH @ 8AM--

Updated Art Gallery

Recently the Art Gallery was refreshed, and few old peices brought back out.

As you visit, you will notice we have updated quite a bit over the past few weeks,

as you can image, there is much to go, with some pages that have not really changed

in more than 2 years. Primarily formerly featured video selections, and the individual Art Gallery pages.

In more important news, on September 11th, 2009, the Daniel McCree Foundation was

registered with the state of Illinois as a Charitable Trust. Our goal over the next few months is to name a Board of Directors, and recieve our tax exempt status as a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Foundation.

We would like to hear from you if you would be interested in serving as a board member.

General duties would include meeting between 2 and 4 times a year. You do not need to live in the St. Louis area to serve. Some Local Board members have already been selected. However we would encourage anyone who feels compelled to do so, please contact us. editor@danielmccree.org
